Buying and Selling Poole Pottery

Buying and Selling on eBay eBay Price Guide Buying at Antiques Fairs

Every so often, amidst the thousands of Poole pots listed on eBay each week, there are one or two that really stand out.  These are nearly always out of my price range, but like anyone I can can enjoy window shopping too.  So for the last few months, as I've trawled the eBay listings looking for more affordable pieces, I've also been recording the prices that these top pots have made, and some of these are listed below.

I've been unsure about the wisdom of adding this page.  It could add some really useful information over time, but in terms of illustration, it does necessitate using pictures copied from eBay listings and the owners of those photos or the current owners of the pot might not appreciate that.  Anyway I've decided to go ahead with it, and all I can say is that I will remove any photos at the request of the original author.

It's great the things you find when surfing the net.  Christie's have listed the hammer prices of their Poole Pottery Museum and Archive sale held on 31 March 2004.  With total sales of  254,176 for 270 lots, the most expensive a tile panel showing an aerial view of Poole designed by Edward Bawden, now owned by the Poole Museum, which sold for 15, 535.
